Hi Brian!

The word for this week is "omnipotent". It is found only once in this form in Revelation 19:6:

6 After that I heard what sounded like the shout of a vast throng, like the boom of many pounding waves, and like the roar of terrific and mighty peals of thunder, exclaiming, Hallelujah (praise the Lord)! For the Lord our God the Omnipotent (the All-Ruler) reigns!

This is the Greek word "pantokrator" which means: all-ruling; God (as absolute and universal sovereign); Almighty (according to Strong's Concordance). Thayer's Greek Lexicon says: he who holds sway over all things; the ruler of all; almighty: used of God. Louw  and Nida's Greek-English Lexicon says: the Almighty, the One who has all power; the Almighty, who was and is and will be; also may be the one who controls everything; the one who commands all things and all people. We also find it translated "Almighty" in Revelation 4:8:

8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

This is our God! He IS all-powerful, but, as the One Who controls everything, He has set it up so that He is bound, in each of our individual lives, by our own choice! By giving us a free will, He ran the risk of having those who choose NOT to follow Him. The alternative was to make us all as robots and He did NOT want that! It means so much more to Him when we come to Him because we WANT to! He IS All-powerful, BUT, the choice of how much of His power we allow into our lives is completely up to us! He CAN do all things, but He won't, UNLESS we ask Him!

Meditating on God's Word is probably the most important decision you have made since receiving Jesus as Lord and personal Savior! The more you know Him, the more you will know and understand His power. Then YOU can operate in it for yourself and your for beautiful family! Philippians 3:10 (AMP):

10 [For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection...

Here is another older Hillsong's song called "Great in Power":

Love and Shalom from the Swoveys!
