Hi Brian!
The word for this week is "tender". We'll be looking at two verses in the Old Testament and two in the New Testament. Psalm 25:6 and Psalm 145:9:
6 Remember, O LORD, Your tender mercy and loving-kindness; for they have been from of old.
9 The LORD is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works [the entirety of things created].
The phrase "tender mercies" is the Hebrew word "racham". According to Strong's Concordance, this means: compassion (in the plural); tender love, mercy. Brown-Driver-Briggs says: to love deeply; to have mercy; to be compassionate; to have tender affection; to have compassion. The Free Online Dictionary says compassion means: Deep awareness of the suffering of another coupled with the wish to relieve it. That certainly sounds like our God! The New Testament examples are found in Luke 1:78 and James 5:11:
78 Because of and through the heart of tender mercy and loving-kindness of our God, a Light from on high will dawn upon us and visit [us].
11 You know how we call those blessed (happy) who were steadfast [who endured]. You have heard of the endurance of Job, and you have seen the Lord's [purpose and how He richly blessed him in the] end, inasmuch as the Lord is full of pity and compassion and tenderness and mercy.
These are two different Greek words, but they have the same meaning as the Hebrew word. God created us (mankind) with the ability to choose, knowing we would eventually choose wrong, because He wanted our love to be by choice! He already had the plan of salvation in mind, because of His "tender mercies", before He even began (from of old)! There is nothing we will ever face, or could ever go through, that God hasn't already prepared the victorious conclusion for us! If we stay in His Word and in intimate fellowship with Him, He will lead, guide and direct us to that promised end! He is also our example for being the best parents, grandparents and God-parents we can be! You and Kristine are doing a wonderful job! Love is in your house and it shows! Hi Brian!
The word for this week is "hazard". It is not found in that form in the Word of God. The online Free Dictionary says: A condition with the potential to cause injury, illness, or death of personnel; damage to or loss of equipment or property; or mission degradation. See also injury, risk.
This is the Scripture that the Holy Spirit gave me for you. It is found in 1 Peter 5:8:
8 Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.
The enemy goes around "as" a lion. He is posing as or pretending to be a lion. He would like to replace the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Who is Jesus of Nazareth! We have understood from the Word of God that satan has no authority in the life of a born again believer. We can picture him as a toothless lion! This verse also says as a "roaring" lion! Sometimes his voice can SEEM to be so loud and clear, but that is his deception! Notice that he is seeking WHOM he may devour. When we take authority over him and his works in the Name of Jesus, based on the Word of God, then he CANNOT devour us! James 4:7 says this:
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Here is a little clip from "Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure" (The girls like Tinker Bell movies!) that illustrates the "pretended" roaring very well! The quality isn't great, but it was the only one I could find:
As a mighty man of God, and the head of your household, you can keep the devil constantly on the run! You and Kristine in agreement make an even mightier force to be reckoned with! It is such a blessing to us to know of your growth in the Word of God and your loving care for your family! Here is Hillsong with "Alive In Us":

Hi Brian!
The word for today had me puzzled for awhile! It is "synapse"! It isn't anywhere in the Bible, but the concept is. The dictionary definition, according to Merriam-Webster's online dictionary is:A synapse is the tiny gap across which nerve impulses pass from one neuron (nerve cell) to the next.
As you can see, this was a little puzzling until the Holy Spirit gave me the Scripture reference! Ezekiel 22:30:
30 I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.
To "stand" is the Hebrew word "`amad", which, according to Brown-Driver-Briggs) means: to remain, to endure, to take one's stand, to present oneself, to become a servant of. God was looking for someone who was able stand in that gap and make a hedge of protection from the enemy. I found this in the Bible Exposition Commentary:
A disappointing people (Ezek 22:30-31). God searched among His people for one person in authority who would stand in the gap so that the enemy wouldn't penetrate the wall and invade the city, but He found none.
The Lord is still seeking men and women who will take their stand for the moral law of God, stand in the gap at the wall, and confront the enemy with God's help. As you read history, you meet godly men and women who had the courage to resist the popular evils of their day and dare to expose the breaks in the wall and seek to mend them. The Lord is looking for intercessors (Isa 59:1-4,16) who will cry out to God for mercy and for a return to holiness.
Here is an old Hillsong song called "Touching Heaven, Changing Earth":

And also this:
As born again believers, we are the ones to stand in the gap and pray and intercede for those who are unsaved or those believers who are in need. You do this every day as a husband and father! When you seek God for direction for your family and pray His Word over them for protection, provision and safety, then you ARE the "synapse" that causes His power to reach your family! God delights in intercessors because they put the needs of others before themselves. Keep up the good work, mighty man of God! He IS well pleased!
Shalom in Him!

Hi Brian!
The word for this week is "omnipotent". It is found only once in this form in Revelation 19:6:
6 After that I heard what sounded like the shout of a vast throng, like the boom of many pounding waves, and like the roar of terrific and mighty peals of thunder, exclaiming, Hallelujah (praise the Lord)! For the Lord our God the Omnipotent (the All-Ruler) reigns!
This is the Greek word "pantokrator" which means: all-ruling; God (as absolute and universal sovereign); Almighty (according to Strong's Concordance). Thayer's Greek Lexicon says: he who holds sway over all things; the ruler of all; almighty: used of God. Louw and Nida's Greek-English Lexicon says: the Almighty, the One who has all power; the Almighty, who was and is and will be; also may be the one who controls everything; the one who commands all things and all people. We also find it translated "Almighty" in Revelation 4:8:
8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
This is our God! He IS all-powerful, but, as the One Who controls everything, He has set it up so that He is bound, in each of our individual lives, by our own choice! By giving us a free will, He ran the risk of having those who choose NOT to follow Him. The alternative was to make us all as robots and He did NOT want that! It means so much more to Him when we come to Him because we WANT to! He IS All-powerful, BUT, the choice of how much of His power we allow into our lives is completely up to us! He CAN do all things, but He won't, UNLESS we ask Him!
Meditating on God's Word is probably the most important decision you have made since receiving Jesus as Lord and personal Savior! The more you know Him, the more you will know and understand His power. Then YOU can operate in it for yourself and your for beautiful family! Philippians 3:10 (AMP):
10 [For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection...

Happy New Year Brian!
The word for this week is "renew". This is found in Isaiah 40:31:
31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.
The word "renew" here is the Hebrew word "chalap". Vine's Expository Dictionary says: to pass on, to pass away, change. I love that when I wait on Him, He changes my strength for His strength! "Strength" here is power, force, ability (according to Vine's). But I also was blessed to see that when I wait on Him, I can pass on my strength! I am in position to help others be strong, too! That is especially important for you as the head of your household! Your strength in difficult situations will bring calm, confidence and assurance to Kristine and Avery. They will know that they can rely on YOU because YOU are relying on God!
I should add that the phrase "They that wait upon" is the Hebrew word "qavah", which means (according to Strong's Concordance): to bind together, to expect, to wait for, to wait upon. The last meaning is one that I really like. I not only expect Him to confirm His Word, and wait patiently to see it manifest, but I also wait ON Him! I spend time in His presence finding out how He wants things done, just like "waitstaff" in a restaurant! That helps me put action to the Word! This song from Hillsong is an example of waiting on the Lord. It's called "I Will Bless You Lord":
