 Hi Brian!

The word for this week is "saints". There is one Greek word translated "saints" in all of the New Testament and it is found in many verses, including these:

Romans 1:7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. KJV

Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. KJV

Ephesians 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, KJV

Colossians 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: KJV

These are all the Greek word "hagios". Strong's Concordance says sacred (pure, morally blameless, consecrated). Thayer's Greek Lexicon says: set apart for God, to be, as it were, exclusively His. Also: pure, sinless, upright, holy. Vine's Expository Dictionary adds this: As used of believers, it designates all such and is not applied merely to persons of exceptional holiness, or to those who, having died, were characterized by exceptional acts of "saintliness." See especially 2 Thessalonians 1:10, where "His saints" are also described as "them that believed," i. e., the whole number of the redeemed. This last part  is especially meaningful to those of us who were raised in the Catholic religion, where men declared certain people to be 'saints' by things that they did in this life. GOD sees every one of us who have received JESUS as Saviour, and been born again, becoming new creations with sprits made in His image (perfect), as His saints! We are made holy by Him, NOT because we never do anything wrong, but because we are separated unto HIM as HIS very own! That TRUTH should lead us all to desire to be more like Him! Progressively! The more time that we spend in His presence, the more we become LIKE Him in our thoughts and words and actions. THAT is what others see in us that causes them to want to know more about HIM! This truly is a MOST BLESSED life HE has given us! Here is Hillsong Worship with "No One But You":

Love and Shalom from the Swoveys!
