Hi Brian!

The word for this week is "savour"!  It appears a four times in 2 Corinthians 2:14-16a. It is the Greek word "osme" and means, according to Strong's Concordance: fragrance, odor. Louw and Nida Greek-English Lexicon says: the scent or odor of a substance, whether agreeable or disagreeable; smell or scent.

14 But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ's victory] and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere, 15 For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ [which exhales] unto God, [discernible alike] among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. 16a To the latter it is an aroma [wafted] from death to death [a fatal odor, the smell of doom]; to the former it is an aroma from life to life [a vital fragrance, living and fresh].

Those who are hungry for God will enjoy being around us, but those who are lost and don't wan't anything to do with the things of God will hate our presence. This is one of the reasons why! What should we do then? Ephesians 5:1-2:

1 THEREFORE BE imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father]. 2 And walk in love, [esteeming and delighting in one another] as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a slain offering and sacrifice to God [for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance.

HE "smells" great to us and WE "smell" great to those who want to know HIM! The more evidence of His goodness that is displayed in our lives, the more people will be attracted to the ONE Who blesses us so much! You, Kristine, and Avery are a very great blessing to many more people than just your families and the Swoveys! You "smell" good! Here is a song by Gwen Smith called "Something Beautiful". You have to click through to You Tube to get the lyrics! Have a week full of great favor and blessings!

Love and Shalom from the Swoveys!
