Hi Brian!
The "Word" for this week is SUCCESS. I know that you have already been very successful in your work and your life, but I believe that God wants to open up even more doors of opportunity for you and your family. The only place that the word success is found in the King James Bible is in Joshua 1:8:
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
I really like the Amplified Bible here:
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you will meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.
Of course, the Book of the Law is referring to the Word of God, the Bible. We are supposed to speak the Word, but the word "depart" here is the Hebrew word "muwsh", which means: to withdraw, to cease, to take away, to go back. That isn't referring to us speaking the Word out of our mouth, it means not having the Word in our mouths so that it can be spoken. "But you will meditate" is the Hebrew word "hagah", which means: to murmur, to ponder, to imagine, to mutter, to speak, to study, to utter, to muse. That involves your own personal study, speaking it to yourself, speaking to others. I can't tell you how many times I have read something in the Word and then the next teaching I listened to refered to the same thing, or I'd hear something from someone at church and it just added to what the Holy Spirit was telling me about it. And we are supposed to be open for this day and night! I have sometimes woken in the middle of the night and a new thought is just there!
Of course the reason for all of this is so that we can begin to put into practice the Word we are now understanding! When we do that, the promise is that we will be in position to make our own way, or manner of life, "prosperous", the Hebrew word "tsalach", which means: to push forward, to break out, be profitable, to advance, to succeed, to bring to successful issue, to experience prosperity. The Amplified is very good right here because the word for success here is actually the Hebrew word "sakal", which means; to be prudent, to be circumspect, to wisely understand, to have comprehension, to have insight. I believe that this means that you will be in a position to gain even more wisdom and insight from that Word. Knowledge of the Word of God comes layer upon layer. It takes time, but it is time well spent because Jesus said in John 8:31-32:
31 So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, If you abide in My Word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them], you are truly My disciples. 32 And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.
Here's a song about the Word that I found:
Have a great week!
With love and blessings from the Swoveys!
