Hi Brian!

The word for this week is "watch". We'll be looking at this verse of Scripture:

1 Corinthians 16:13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. KJV

This is the Greek word "gregoreuo". Strong's Concordance says: to keep awake, to watch. Thayer's Greek Lexicon adds: give strict attention to, be cautious, active. Vine's Expository Dictionay speaks of keeping awake and spiritual alertness. The Amplified Bible says this:

1 Corinthians 16:13 Be alert and on your guard; stand firm in your faith (your conviction respecting man's relationship to God and divine things, keeping the trust and holy fervor born of faith and a part of it). Act like men and be courageous; grow in strength! AMP

I love that this verse shows that there is great importance to us believing the Word of God and His promises and ordering our lives by that!
