Hi Brian!

The word for this week is "accomplish". One place it is found is in Isaiah 55:11:

10 For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and returns not thither, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. KJV

This is the Greek word "`asah". Strong's Concordance says: a primitive root, to do or make, in the broadest sense and widest application. Brown-Driver-Briggs Hebrew Lexicon says: to do, to fashion, to accomplish, to make, to work, to produce, to prepare, to observe, to celebrate. Vine's Expository Dictionary says: to make, to do, to create. In its primary sense this verb can mean to make something into something. In an extended use this verb means to prepare a meal, a banquet, or even an offering. The Word of God is saying here that His Word, when spoken from our mouths, will not return to Him empty, but will perform HIS will and produce what HE desires for us! Our job is to meditate on that Word until faith rises in us, then to speak that Word over our families, our homes and our livlihoods so that GOD can accomplish HIS perfect will in our lives!
