Hi Brian!

The word for this week is "hap". It is found only one time in the entire Bible.

Ruth 2:2 And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter. 3 And she went, and came, and gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her hap was to light on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech. KJV

This is the Hebrew word "miqreh" (mik-reh'). Stong's Concordance says: something met with, i.e. an accident or fortune. Brown-Driver-Briggs Hebrew Lexicon says: unforseen meeting or event, accident, happening, chance, fortune. Ruth had come with her mother-in-law Naomi back to Israel after the death of her husband. They had nothing, and going to the next of kin for help was their solution. They were trusting in God and He caused this 'happening'! He had prepared Boaz for such a time as this and their child is found in the line of JESUS! I LOVE accounts like this because it shows the everlasting goodness of God toward his people and those who have faith, trust and confidence in Him! During these last two challenging years, we have been blessed beyond measure and have been healthier and more properous with great favor than we had ever been before! MULTIPLIED! God is GOOD! All the time! Here is a new song from Hillsong Worship called "That's The Power":

Love and Shalom from the Swoveys!
