Hi Brian!
The word for this week is "interpret". It's found in these New Testament Scriptures:
1 Corinthians12:30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? KJV
1 Corinthians 14:5 I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. KJV
1 Corinthians 14:13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. KJV
1 Corinthians 14:27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. KJV
Strong's Concordance says this: To explain thoroughly, to translate. Thayer's Greek Lexicon says: To unfold the meaning of what is said, explain, expound. The Theological Dictionary says: To indicate, to express. The verses that we have above are all referring to the 'interpretation" of unknown tongues so that those hearing can understand what is being said. Another form of the word is found in the account of the the disciples who walked unkowingly with Jesus after His resurrection! Luke 24:27:
Luke 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. KJV
Here the word is "expounded'! Jesus explained in depth from the Word just who HE was and is! If we just make the decision to press into His presence a little more each day, the understanding will be present in our lives as naturally as drinking water! We were designed that way! Thank You, JESUS! Here is Hillsong with "See The Light":
Love and Shalom from the Swoveys!
