I hope you're having a great weekend! The word for this week is "key/keys". We find them in these verses:
Luke 11:52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered. KJV
Rev 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; KJV
Matt 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. KJV
Rev 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. KJV
This is the Greek word "kleis". Strong's Concordance says: as shutting a lock, literally or figuratively. It comes from another Greek word "kleio", which means to close according to Strong's Concordance! These keys represent the authority of God. In Luke, Jesus is reprimanding the lawyers because they had access to the Truth, through knowledge of God's Word, but they didn't want it. As if that wasn't bad enough, they hindered others from finding the Truth of the Word. There are pastors and ministers in churches today who have rejected or resisted the Truth of the authority of the Word and therefore have never taught their congregations these things. In Matthew, when Peter responded to Jesus' question about Who He was, Jesus revealed a key to him! He said that Peter did not come up with that answer on his own or through study, but that God Himself had revealed this Truth to Him. These "keys" that Jesus spoke of to Peter were referring to the revealed knowledge of the Word that now gives every believer the authority over all the power of the enemy! We now have the right and authority to "bind" the enemy from harming our life and loved ones, and we have the right and authority to loose and release the Life and Power of God into every situation, expecting VICTORY! The vital "key" is to meditate the Word of God until the Truth rises up so big in us that doubt has no chance to succeed in discouraging us. Jesus said THIS about that in John 15:7:
7 If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you. AMP
That is the "key" to our walking in all of the authority of the Kingdom of God as His ambassador! HIS power at work in and through US, as His representatives! Here is Hillsong Worship with "I Will Boast In Christ", because HE is the Source of all of this power and authority!
