Hi Brian!

The word for this week is "divine". We'll be looking at 2 Peter 1:3-4

3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. KJV

This is the Greek word "theios". Strong's Concordance says: godlike. Vine's Expository Dictionary adds this: that which proceeds from God Himself. The Theological Dictionary of the New Testament says: relative to all that bears the stamp of deity, as predominant power, final reality, supreme meaning. We HAVE the Spirit of God living in our recreated human spirits. In order for His nature to be apparent in us, we must prosper our souls (3 John 2) by renewing our minds with His Word (Romans 12:2). It is through the knowledge of Him, which is obtained progressively, layer upon layer, that we gain the understanding of just who WE are in Him! Our confidence in speaking the Word, standing on the Word and doing the Word, with the same results that Jesus had, will continue to grow as we continue to pursue this knowledge of Him. As you do this, remember that all of those good things about Him are IN you, too, because YOU have HIS nature! It shows! Here is Hillsong with "The Difference", because He IS the difference in us!

Love and Shalom from the Swoveys!
