The word for your vacation week is "abound". We'll be looking at four Scripture references. The first three are here:
Rom 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. KJV
2 Cor 8:7 Therefore, as you abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that you abound in this grace also. KJV
2 Cor 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: KJV
This is the Greek word "perisseuo". Strong's Concordance says: to superabound (in quantity or quality), be in excess, be superfluous. Thayer's Greek Lexicon says: to exceed, to be over, to exist in abundance, to overflow.
I know that we've looked at this concept before! God's desire is that we prosper and be in health! He wants our abundant prosperity even more than we do! But I found an interesting verse in my study today! Look at Philippians 4:12:
12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. KJV
Notice that Paul is saying that he knows HOW to abound! One of the greatest temptations that we have noticed in the church is the temptation for people to be satisfied when prosperity comes and to stop doing the Word that got them there! When people have needs they have a tendency to look to God for help! When things are going well, many just set God and His Word aside! They do this UNTIL they begin to reap the result of their negligence and then they are in need again! What a vicious cycle the enemy has them in! It takes diligence and knowledge to know HOW to abound! I believe that you and Kristine both know how to abound! You know how to properly view money, riches and property so that those things never take the place that God should have in your life! As you continue with your diligence in the Word, in tithing and giving, in worship, thanksgiving and praise, and in prayer for others, you will see a degree of abundance that you may have never thought possible! Have a wonderful vacation in "Mickey Land"! May you be abundantly blessed in every area! Here is Hillsong with "Your Grace Abounds":
