The word for this week is "intense"! Ephesians 2:4 says this:
4 But God — so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us,
5 Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation).
This is the Greek word "polus". Thayer's Greek lexicon says: of multitude, number (many, numerous, great); force, intensity. Strong's Concordance also adds: abundant; plenteous. God's love for us knows no bounds! It is strong, abundant and never-changing! He did what He did because of that great Love! This love is what He requires us to walk in with each other. This is also the love that causes our faith to work (Galatians 5:6)! Another verse from the Amplified Bible that uses the word "intense" is Matthew 11:12:
12 And from the days of John the Baptist until the present time, the kingdom of heaven has endured violent assault, and violent men seize it by force [as a precious prize — a share in the heavenly kingdom is sought with most ardent zeal and intense exertion].
