Shalom,

The word for this week is "shortly". It's found in these verses:

Romans 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. KJV

Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: KJV

Revelation 22:6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done. 7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. KJV

These are all the Greek word "en tachos". Strong's Concordance says a brief space of time, in haste. Thayer's Greek Lexicon adds: quickly. Another Greek word is represented in 3 John

3 John 13 I had many things to write, but I will not with ink and pen write unto thee:14 But I trust I shall shortly see thee, and we shall speak face to face. Peace be to thee. Our friends salute thee. Greet the friends by name. KJV

This one is the Greek word "eutheos". Strong's Concordance says: directly, at once, soon. Thayer's Greek Lexicon says: straightway, immediately, forthwith.

The first example is referring to hurrying because time is short! The second example is referring to doing something NOW! At once! Implying: Don't put it off any longer!" I really believe that the appearing of JESUS for the church is 'shortly' to come to pass! One day, sooner than we think, WE, the CHURCH will be lifed up to meet JESUS in the air! Straightway, immediately, forthwith! When we hear that trumpet and the shout of the angel, there will be no more opportunity to BE the LIGHT in our world. But 'being the light' is going to look different in every single one of us! I LOVE to see yours and Kristine's videos of those precious girls! They are all so unique, fun, funny, talented and so full of life! You have a fantastic 'family light'! I believe that you are all reaching so many people that you don't even know are watching! I hope that this lockdown stuff ends SHORTLY and that we will get to see you all again SHORTLY and that all of the kids in our lives will SHORTLY be able to return, with a new focus, energy and commitment, to the things that they so love to do! Here is Hillsong with one of my favorite songs concerning what the church is to look like now! "Echoes: Til We See The Other Side":

VERSE 1: We will sing We will dance Till the earth echoes the heavens Sing His praise Till we see the other side VERSE 2: ‘Cause we belong to the light So when the night is at its darkest Just hold on for the dawn will soon arrive CHORUS 1: Can you feel the winds are changing There’s a new day on the rise And the atmosphere is breaking As the new world comes to life We will sing We will dance Till the earth echoes the heavens Sing His praise Till we see the other side TAG: I’ve got a feeling The darkness won’t last very long

CHORUS 2: Let a sleeping world awaken There’s a new day on the rise And the enemy is shaking As the graveyards spring to life We will sing We will dance Till the earth echoes the heavens Sing His praise Till we see the other side

Hi Brian!

The word for this week is "heady", or in some versions "headstrong". It's found in 2 Timothy 3:2-5:

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. KJV

This is the Greek word "propetes". Strong's Concordance says: falling forward, i.e. headlong. Thayer's Greek Lexicon says: precipitate, rash, reckless. Vine's Expository Dictionary says: headstrong is the appropriate rendering. This same word is translated "rashly" in Acts 19:36:

36 Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly. KJV

It is sad to say that I have noticed these traits showing up more and more in people that I have had to deal with. In fact, I have encountered many of the character traits described in 2 Timothy! I am sure that you have, too, in your career with the public. MOST of the people I have met have been polite, cordial, friendly and helpful. Being prepared for those who are NOT, and handling them in a godly way, can be a challenge, but also very rewarding. When I worked as a Pharm Tech, I was assigned to take all of the calls from a certain patient who was diagnosed as being bipolar. Most times when she called she was friendly, happy and calm, but sometimes, even in the middle of a call, she would become very rude, snappy, angry and accusatory. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I could ALWAYS get her to calm down so I could finish helping her with her order, or at the very least she would recognize that she should try again later. As time went on, her episodes came less frequently, especially when talking to me. I believe that one of the gifts that God has placed with in you is the ability to bring calm to any situation. As we continue to pray for favor, Wisdom, and for opportunites for you to have the career you would most like to have, your ability to deal with people so well is going to play a big part! Hi Brian!

The word for this week is "rudder". It's found only in Acts 27:40:

40 And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore. KJV

This is the Greek word "pedalion". Strong's Concordance says: a pedal or helm. Vine's Expository Dictionary adds: the blade of an oar; the pedalia were actually steering paddles, two of which were used as "rudders" in ancient ships. The Dictionary definition of "rudder" is: any means of or device for governing, directing, or guiding a course, as a leader or principle. This goes right along with another word, "helm", found in James that is also from the Greek "pedalion". James 3:3-4:

3 Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. 4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. KJV

In this example the main point is found in verses 5-8:

5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.  7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: 8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. KJV

The reason that the enemy trys so hard to get us to have 'loose lips', speaking things that we really do not want, or even speaking nonsense, is that he has seen first hand how very powerful our words are! Mark 16:20 says this:

20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord kept working with them and confirming the message by the attesting signs and miracles that closely accompanied [it]. Amen (so be it). AMP

When our words are God's Word, then we give HIM something to work with! When we meditate on God's Word, then THAT is what we will end up speaking out of our mouths, giving God something that He CAN confirm! Joshua 1:8 says this:

8 This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success. AMP

Speaking the WORD out of our mouths AFTER meditation brings the understanding, and after HEARING that WORD so that faith can come, is what will change situations, circumstances, tests and trials! And THAT is the ONLY way to control this 'rudder' and steer our lives into victory and success and favor, rather than failure and defeat! Such a little 'instrument' to control our very lives! Hi Brian!

The word for this week is "temporal". It's only found in the Bible one time in 2 Corinthians 4:18. We'll be looking at verses 14-18!

14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. 15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. KJV

This is the Greek word "proskairos". Strong's Concordance says for the ocasion only, temporary. Thayer's Greek Lexicon adds: for a season, enduring only for awhile. The Theological Dictionary says: temporally conditioned, temporally limited, temporal as distinct from eternal, belonging to this world. One of the most exciting things about being a born again believer is that we KNOW that we will live forever in the presence of God! All that we see in this world is subject to change! Our situations, circumstances, tests and trials can all be changed by the Word of God, which is TRUTH (John 17:17). Many believers have spent a lot of time memorizing Bible verses, which is fine, but we can only put into practice the Word that we KNOW! Joshua 1:8 tells us the importance of that!

8 This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success. AMP

I really love when the Word of God becomes more real inside than anything that I can see with my physical eyes! THAT shows me that change is coming! a GOOD change! A GOD change! I believe that we are getting ready for a HUGE change as God is moving in answer to the prayers, praise and declaration of His Word by HIS people! Get ready for some 'suddenlies'! GOOD ones! Here is Hillsong UNITED with a song that speaks of that called "Shadow Step":
